Their grandma rediscovered what 7 am looks like and the kids kept extra busy with all the fun things she did with them. Watching their uncles play baseball, the Zoo, swimming in the pool, playing on a new swing set, playing at the city's new splash pad, and Sunday's at Great-Grandma's house. The fun was never ending! While the kids and I were in Utah, Mark went to Alaska with my dad and brothers. They stayed in a lodge and went out with a couple guides every morning and fished until dinner. Mark really really enjoyed himself and we ended up with 40 lbs of fish fillets in our freezer to show for it!
He saw Bald Eagles and Bears in AK too. A Momma bear and her cubs came up-close and personal a few different times. Can you spot them in the background of this picture?
King Salmon
This fish won the "largest salmon" competition the boys had going. 40 inches and 40 lbs. I can already see a "fish tale" spinning that can be told on future trips with his son about this whopper.
Pike
They caught their group limit more than once!
That's good eatin' right there!

I've heard that once you've had it fresh from Alaska there is no going back (some friends of ours lived there and filled their freezer every year)!
