Even though I know many (probably 9 out the 13) people who read our blog are also on Facebook, I am going to duplicate the pictures I have been posting on Facebook for the other 4 of you and for the journal aspect of this blog.
We have been in the house for 1 full week, and a lot of changes have taken place. No, I am still not done unpacking. I think the only room that is truly ready to go is Mark's weight room, and I haven't touched that space.
The kitchen would be done if the washer wasn't broken. None the less, that is the closest room to being finished and it is WONDERFUL! Check out the before and after. We like it 110% better! The paint matches our dishes and the counter-top a lot better. We also like that it is more neutral than the cranberry red the previous owner had chosen. The yellow/brown color that our walls and ceilings are currently painted is livable but it is chipping in various places and we don't love it. I think over the next few years we will change most of the walls to the same Vast Desert color we used in the kitchen.

Mark tore down the broken pink gate on the right side of the house. I still can't believe the woman painted her fence pink, but she did and it was falling apart. My handy-man husband was able to fix that problem like it was no big deal. When the weather gets cooler (lets say out of the 100s) he will redo the left side so the pink will be just a memory!

I have spent a few hours every morning, except for Sunday, pulling weeds in the front yard. I am not even halfway done, but I was able to buy some Zinnias for 50% off at the local nursery that will add some temporary color and make the walkway up to the door much more welcoming.

Oh hey, I can't forget to show you a picture of my fabulously organized closets! True the bedroom may still need a king sized bedspread, pictures, and the wheels are still missing on our laundry hamper, but my closet is looking great! My craft/project room is also a disaster but all my cake, scrapbook, sewing, and bow making supplies are well organized!

More has been done, but I have to save something to post next week.
Mark starts work and I have a job interview on Monday so from here on out things will be progressing much slower, but we are happy and go to bed each night exhausted.
