At the beginning of our second week we went in for eye surgery at Hoopes Vision. I got LASIK and Mark got PRK. I am back to 20/20 vision already, which is something that I haven't been able to say since I was 9! Mark's eyes are 20/25 right now, but he is still healing and should be 20/20 or better in the next few weeks. Because our eyes are still fragile for 2-3 months after the surgery we weren't able to go jet skiing the second week. We did the more mellow things instead. I read by the pool a lot, went shopping at Cliftons, took more alphabet pictures, and started a baby blanket for the upcoming Elzey niece.
Thursday the family went to park city to ride the Alpine Slides (probably shouldn't have done that with our new eyes, but it was worth it). We also went shopping at the outlets and had a contest with my family of who could get the best deal using 50 bucks. Mark won when he purchased a $45 dress shirt at Van Heusen for two dollars and fifty cents....yes you read that right $2.50! Everyone was so impressed with the deal that the whole family went back and did some more Van Heusen shopping. I was very happy with my $104 purchase that included a necklace and 3 sets of earrings when the price came down to only $0.60 after the sale and an extra coupon!!! Thank you Van Heusen outlets for saving me $103.40!
A few days before we had to leave Dennis and Tarin brought the Smallwood girls up to the house for an afternoon of fun in the sun! It was great to see all 4 girls conquer their fears and jump off the diving board for a Pina Colada reward. It was a great vacation. We are both loving our "new" eyes, I am happy to finally have some tan lines, and spending time with family is always our favorite!
I have already emptied three or four boxes today and pulled a two foot path of weeds on our "landscaped" walkway. Currently, I am sitting on the couch as the termite man drills some holes in the cement so he treat the house for the required annual policy, every bedroom is full of boxes, and there are at least 3 million weeds to pull in the yard. I'll post again when those things get taken care of, until then...I hope everyone is enjoying their summer don't forget to keep in touch!
