Starting Work and Continuing the Work

Mark started his second week of work Monday. I think he likes it, but I can't get much out of him about the day to day activities. I do know he is missing the schedule he had a Bandwidth. He has to leave for work at 7 and hasn't been getting back until after 6. The work must be more difficult too because he was exhausted Friday. I remember the feeling from teaching the last 4 years when the work wasn't physical but the mental exhaustion seeped into into every muscle and bone. He seems to be making friends though and lunch is the most talked about activity. Apparently we already have a Halloween party on the calendar and I am supposed to come up with "cool" costumes for us to wear. I don't know how I will find a set that both of us like, but I am glad for the invite and even more happy that the people are friendly.

I have continued to unpack the house and we are getting close. The living, dining, kitchen, master suite, guest, and workout rooms are all unpacked and organized (minus the guest comforter which is MIA). This week I am painting my craft room. I could have gotten it done in a day or two but I have decided to stencil an accent wall. I love the way it is starting to look, but I will never do it again! The weeding is also coming along and although I am still not done with the front yard I think I can get it finished this weekend, then onto the back. The heat has almost killed my Zinnias, because I just can't seem to keep the soil moist. I am so disappointed because I was hoping to have them through at least some of the fall. Today it is raining so maybe that will
help my cause!
While having a home has presented its own problems and a lot of expenses, there are a few things I am loving about home ownership (in no particular order): 1. I don't have to carry my trash 1/2 mile to the bin. 2. I get to recycle for free, and we have more of that than trash. 3. Gizmo is truly enjoying the backyard 4. I get to park in a garage. 5. Carrying groceries into the house is 10 times easier when you don't have to go up 3 flights of stairs 6. We got to choose our own paint colors 7. We have lots of space, so much we don't even have enough furniture to fill it. 8. I have my very own Craft Room and I LOVE IT!
