I had marinated some steak Friday afternoon and we assembled Kabobs before we left the house. Once we got there we realized the fire was way to hot to just
hold the kabobs while they cooked (duh-huh). Mark rigged a contraption with our spare tent poles and aluminum foil that would hold our yummy steak at the perfect flame licking height. After 1 try with veggies on the kabob we decided to season & steam our squash, onion, and zucchini in packets over the hot coals. SO YUMMY!
Mark taught me how to play rummi last night, and we enjoyed the evening staying up late with each other.
The only negative to the whole thing was the fact that we were laying on gravel. We did not plan for this, so we did not have near enough padding to make us comfortable! Next time we will take a blowup mattress so we get more sleep and don't wake up sore.

yay for camping! I love it!
Gizmo looked like a real rugged camper -- sitting on your lap instead of patrolling the perimeter keeping bears and coyotes away.
Hey! Good to hear from you. Hope everything is going well for you guys!
