A Letter from Gizmo

Well, as many of you know (because there was a post on it)
Mark and I have adopted a dog from Aunt Paulette's shelter. A week or so ago Paulette told us that the newspaper had done a piece on the shelter and she had chosen Gizmo to be the face of the shelter for that piece. She told us he had painted a picture for a fund raiser and would send us the picture and the newspaper article. Yesterday when we checked the mail there was a large envelope with the name Gizmo in the return address area. I excitedly opened up the envelope to see the newspaper article.

But to my surprise we not only found the newspaper article and painting, but a letter from our little Gizmo as well. This is what our "dog" wrote:

Dear Mama and Daddy:

jhugdI hope you like my painting. I was in the newspaper! Don't I look handsome?
mjguhI am trying to be a very good boy. Aunt Paulette is teaching me to come when my name is called. She is trying to teach me to walk by nasty things instead of rolling on them. That is hard to do.
kjhuhI am waiting for you to come get me, but I am having a good time here. All of the shelter workers like me, and they all say I'm a friendly boy. Most of them say I'm a neat dog. Aunt Paulette calls me her little angel doglet.
jhgyjI will see you soon!
kjhkiuhLove,

Gizmo, we look forward to picking you up from that place too, trust me "Mama and Daddy" are counting down the days, we have already packed 5 boxes of books and 3 boxes of winter clothes! We also were given some dog things from my parents when we helped them move. You have a food container, Christmas collar, leash, and brush all cleaned and ready for you!

A big thank you to Aunt Paulette for all of the hard work, time, and energy she has spent on our "baby", and of course for letting him stay with her at the shelter!

Gizmo's painting is beautiful! The man helping him paint it wanted to do shades of pink/red. But, Gizmo was nervous that would be interpreted that he has "gender issues" since he was neutered, so we opted for the more masculine blue and green with an accent color of rose.

We are so excited about Mark and Jill moving to NC, although we do know what pain that causes Jill's family. But, Gizmo needs his mama and daddy with him!
