Rachel and Dean had a lot of "firsts" while we were in Utah too. First time swimming. They surprised us all when they didn't cry after a few minutes. Instead they seemed to love it and spent more than one afternoon in the pool.
First time "camping". We didn't stay over night, but they loved looking at the fire each night before heading home to bed.
First time at the beach. They napped on the beach while the their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins sunbathed and jet-skied, but I didn't take the camera down to the lake there aren't any pictures of that part of the day.
First time skipping a night feeding. After all of the swimming, camping, and family loving both babies were so tired they started skipping their midnight feedings. It was a fantastic to wake up and realize it was 3:30 am instead of midnight. So far they are mostly keeping that trend and I'm loving the extra hours of sleep.
Rachel and Dean also met another set of cousins. Mark's brother Dennis brought his wife Tarin and their 4 daughters up to my parents house to see the twins and enjoy the pool. It's becoming a tradition to have them come swim during our summer visit. Even though I couldn't devote as much time to my nieces as I used to, it was still fun to have them spend an afternoon with us!
It was a fun trip. Mark and I liked having the help that Grandma and Grandpa gave with the twins. I loved having a change of scenery. I think Grandma and Grandpa DeYoung enjoyed showing off their first grand kids to friends. Rachel and Dean loved the attention and extra cuddles. I could tell tell they were missing it the first day they were home alone with me. It was full of extra crying and even before Mark got home from work all three of us were exhausted.
