It's hard to believe our babies will likely be here in less than 2 months! I'm still working for another 3 weeks, but then I'll hopefully have another few weeks to get things done before they make their arrival. Thanks to some AMAZING friends the nursery will be painted tomorrow and then we can set up the furniture, decorate, and organize the room. Ideally it will be ready to go by May 8th (earliest the Dr. feels comfortable with babies coming) so things won't have to be done in that room after they arrive.
I'm feeling great! Other than getting tired a little earlier in the evening everything is going well. Today my doctor said I was the easiest twin pregnancy he's ever had. I'm at the point where strangers are starting to assume I'm due soon. While visiting a friend in the hospital last week I had 3 different people ask me if I was there to have my baby that day. Nope... but I can't blame them b/c I do look big enough to be ready for delivery. My stomach is measuring 37 weeks today even though I'm only 28 weeks along. Measuring 5-10 weeks ahead is normal for twin pregnancies, so as long as the babies keep growing the doctor's not worried about that specific measurement. I feel big, but know that I have to get a lot bigger before these little ones come. 2 weeks ago the babies were both 1 lb 14 oz. So by now they are well over 2 lbs each. We want the twins to at least double and ideally triple in size before they are born, so I'll truly be a whale by then!
In normal life news - Mark got a promotion! He was asked to interview with 4 different divisions of the fiance team and according to his boss "he was the prettiest belle at the ball". All four divisions chose Mark as their #1 pick, so the Senior Vice President of Finance let Mark take his choice and then had to help the other 3 groups divvy up the rest of the candidates. Mark will be moving from Finance and Strategy supporting Marketing to Finance and Strategy supporting Food. This time around he'll have a direct report - he'll be someones boss. He won't have his best friend as his boss anymore, but he will sit across the isle from his next closest friend. I tell ya...sometimes I'm not sure if these boys are actually working or just having a Boys Day Out every day where they happen to have a weekly To Do List!
