More Home Improvements

It's been a while since I've posted on the newest home improvements. Some of them are weeks, if not months, in the making. In all honesty... I'd like to say that I've made lots of improvements, but it's mostly been Mark.

He replaced our warped fence in the backyard. Now we don't have to worry about our neighbor's dog, Sam, sticking his head through the fence boards when we bring Gizmo out.

He decided that getting our master bathroom walls to have a flat texture would be near impossible so this weekend he sprayed a light texture on the walls and has left it to me to paint while he's at work.
*It's been unfinished since January*

Now this one is mine. I was tired of feeling like our laundry room was a dark and dirty dungeon so I've started to decorate it :-). I started with my old Rosie the Riveter sign, added a missing sock line w/coordinating clothes pins, hung my mops, dusters, & brooms on the wall, created a custom stain removal guide w/spray painted $1 frame, hung a paper towel holder above sink, replaced the old light bulbs with new brighter ones, and even though you can't see it I spent hours removing paint and wood-stain from the sink. I've ordered a vinyl decal for the wall next to Rosie and I'm still debating about painting our washer and dryer either red or yellow. I know it's just a laundry room and most people don't put energy into that part of the house, but I only spent fifteen bucks and I'm no longer ashamed to have that door left open when people come over 'cause now it's kinda cute!

I'd love to say the storm shelter is finished, but we had a week of rain that put him behind and then he wasn't happy with the paint job his welder did so even more time was taken to repaint and bring it up to standard. He is coming back today though and since it has taken so long he's gonna give us some of our money back. I'm hoping it gets done before it starts raining this week.

You two do such wonderful work. I'm so glad you're getting a storm room. Remember, teach Gizmo how to open the door when you're not home.
