I think for the first time since we moved here that every room in the house has gotten cleaned in the same 1 week window. There is still a pile of boxes of our entertainment center stuff that needs a home, but the bathrooms are sparkling, the carpets are all vacuumed AND steam cleaned, the windows are almost invisible, the sheets on every bed are freshly washed, and dust has vanished from sight! I kinda really love it! Unfortunately Mark was unable to finish the entertainment center on time so those pesky 4 boxes remain and all the wires are showing to our cable box, TV, DVD player etc. If those few things weren't around I am pretty sure i would feel like a miracle worker!
Mark came close to finishing. Everything is built, but it took him much longer to fill nail holes and sand than he had expected. We have chosen the stain color, but Thanksgiving just came too soon. I am very ready for this project to be complete for a few reasons.

#1. Those boxes need to disappear ASAP and that can't happen until their contents have a home in the house. #2. I want to park in my garage. #3. I bought a door at the Helping Hands Restore that I want to turn into a headboard, but he needs to fill a hole in it for me first. #4. I am tired of all the saw dust and wood shavings getting brought into my house from the garage. #5. I think he is sick of the project and I know how it feels to be sick of doing something. My new desired deadline is Christmas Eve, before we leave for VA. That gives him exactly 1 month from today. I haven't told him the new deadline yet though, cross your fingers for me! Realistically I say I am ready for it to be done, but I have done NOTHING toward the project, so really I am just excited for the final product and feel bad it has taken so long!
Yesterday as I was transferring our small 2 drawer filing cabinet from Mark's office into mine (so I could store my tutoring stuff out of sight) I found an old file of pictures that I had hung on the wall next to my bed during my Freshman year at BYU. A lot of them were family pictures and it was crazy to see how much my brothers have changed, but a good chunk of them were pictures of us roommates having fun. I scanned the ones with me in them and sent the rest to the roommate who were in the pictures. I LOVED that year at BYU. We had such a great group of friends, and we did so many fun things. I think the best part of it all is that most of us girls were able to keep in touch.

Melissa F. and I write letters back and forth a few times a year (blue shirt). Kristi and I call each other often and try to see each other as much as possible (black shirt). Megan is always quick to answer her phone and I love reading her blog (red shirt). Jami has three kids now (well 2.5) and stays really busy, but still manages to update us on her blog every so often (white shirt). Andrea is the hardest to keep track of because she doesn't have a blog and doesn't Facebook either, but I try (gold sweater). What a good group of girls that is! I wish there were pictures of the whole group we hung out with. I know it is somewhere on our backup hard-drive, but Mark never told me where my stuff is on that thing. This good group of girls hung out with between 6-12 guys most weekends and those boys were just a blast too! If everyone were so lucky to have friends like that off the get go, everyone would love their college years and be so busy having fun there wouldn't be time to get into trouble! I wish I could show you all the pictures, but they really won't mean much to most of you. Hopefully that little mosaic gives you an idea of how happy we were and some of the crazy/fun things we did! LOVE IT!

I am so impressed! I am still "moving in" from 1.5 years ago and now I realize I probably should just leave the rest of the boxes packed (okay, I really should just throw them out, but I still am looking for my dustbuster and kitchen clock!). The entertainment center looks like it is going to be cool. I'd love a home tour once it's done!
