More Home Improvements

Things have calmed own a lot since Halloween. I haven't had much to write about.
Mark still spends his evenings in the garage working on his entertainment center and is starting to feel the pinch of fulfilling his promise to have it done before Thanksgiving.

Last week I spent a good chunk of time painting the guest bedroom. I kinda feel bad Talise had to stay in the unpainted version because it looks so much nicer now! No more weird black streaks, blue marker lines, white puddy marks, and weird oily stains on the wall. The ugly mustard yellow walls and dirty off-white trim (which never show up right in a picture) are gone! I repainted the room in the same color as our kitchen and went the extra step by repainting all the trim and doors a nice clean Ivory Lace color.
Between the new wall and trim and the fact that it is the first room in our house with window treatments I am very happy and actually kinda jealous that the guestroom looks so great while our room hasn't had any improvements done yet.
This week, hopefully, Mark will finish the cabinet doors and start to sand the entertainment center so it can be stained and moved into the house early next week. He also needs to finish and clean his office and garage.

I, on the other hand, have been told to paint the hallway leading to the guest bedroom. I need find someone to get our front window replaced as soon as possible, finish retouching the walls in my office and get the second guest bathroom ready for my brother Scott to use next week. I think it has only been used once since we moved in so it definitely deserves a good cleaning and a shower curtain, towels, soap, etc.

So the theme for this week will be Home Improvement. Probably not enough for pictures so next week's post will most likely be just as boring as this one. We are getting a few steps closer to giving a whole house tour though!

Jill, that is really exciting that you have the a) time, b) skill-set, and c) patience to do all of these home repairs. It will be so exciting once everything is done to look back and see the fruits of your handiwork! What a money saver to do everything yourself - although you may have to pay for therapy later ;-) Your bed and coverlet in the guest room is gorgeous, by the way. So pretty!
