Last Day of School

Yesterday was the last day of school.

I most definitively had mixed emotions! I was very happy to start relaxing this summer, grateful for a break from some of my students, proud of myself for impacting some students on a deep personal level, and glad that people enjoyed the photo frames I created for the teacher's end of the year party. I was extremely sad to say good-bye to some of my dearest friends and mentors.

It was so different than when I left Eno Valley 2 years ago. I was so happy to get out of there and swore I would never return. When I started at Easley I had no confidence in my teaching ability and had lost some of my self-confidence in general life too. Yesterday I cried when I was the last one in the building and knew that closing the door to my classroom meant closing the door to an uplifting chapter in my life. Working at Easley has been a great blessing! My principal, Tim Gibson, is great at supporting the person and the teacher. My Vice Principal, Dr. Jordan, was great at helping me solve problems that came up with parents and/or students. All of the the teachers that I worked with were supportive in every aspect of the word!

Thank you Easley for EVERYTHING! I will miss you dearly!
