There are many reasons I LOVE being off track! I am not saying I don't like working, but having 3 weeks do whatever I want without 50 students hanging on my every word and depending on my every move is very nice!
When I am off track these are a few of my favorite things:
- I get to stay in bed until whenever I feel like getting up

- I can catch up on my TV shows that have been taking up too much space on the DVR
- I can grade the 450 papers I just couldn't get to during my 10-12 hour work days
- I get to go grocery shopping during the work day....which cuts the time required to do so in half
- I can spend time in the sun! No wonder I am vampire white...pant suits/slacks and only 30 min. in the sun since July aren't really conducive for getting a summer tan.

- I can slowly get the apartment cleaned up to the way I want it to be everyday, but don't always get it to look that way on a daily basis
- I get to have play dates with friends & rekindle those relationships that get cold while I devote my time to work and students
- I get to read books for me....not books for read-alouds, guided reading groups, or lessons. I get to read books that are intellectually interesting to ME

- I can make dinner (and try new recipes) for my husband so it is ready when he gets home
- There are less stressful situations, therefore making real life actually enjoyable on a 24/7 basis!

I love your list! That's how I feel, but I'm still on countdown until the end of my semester! Hope to see you soon! We missed you at girls' night.
