I've had 2 cake orders in 2 weeks. The first was for an EC teacher at school. It was her grandmother's eigthy-something birthday, and she simply knew she didn't have time to make a cake. She wanted something simple, so it was a cake I didn't have to stress about. I love making cakes that I don't have to stress about!

The second was for the Speech Pathologist at school. Her son Nicholas
turned 6 this weekend and wanted a movie theme birthday party. I wish I could have made his bucket even taller, but it was already stacked 4 cakes tall. Oh well, she liked it, and I got to eat the left over popcorn balls that I didn't use at the base. Yum!
I am in my 9th week of school. Benchmark tests will take up most of this week and then next week our intersession will start. I am SO ready for a few weeks to relax and get reacquainted with friends! There are so many people in Durham/Chapel Hill that I think I could be really really good friends with, but I don't have a ton of opportunities to deeply develop those bonds during the year. I am so so so tired by the time I get home from work that I don't have much energy to go out and about. Often times by Friday I just want to collapse (I went to bed at 8 pm just 2 days ago and didn't wake up until 7:30 am Saturday). Intersession is a blessing because I get to go join the mommies club at their weekday activities and use that time to form bonds with those wonderful ladies! Yay for staying at home during the day!
Mark on the other hand is back in session at Fuqua. He has been in school for only a few weeks, but is already in the swing of things. He is continuing to work in Cary while taking a derivatives class at Duke. I don't know what that is, but he says it is boring and difficult at the same time. The yearly Duke basketball campout is coming up and even I am getting excited! It will be while I am on break this year so I can spend some of the day playing games and getting to know the new LDS families this year while the men camp out for 2 days in an U-Haul truck!
