Welcome Home Elder DeYoung

Friday afternoon we arrived in UT and prepared for Scott's arrival from Bolivia. His flight kept getting delayed and delayed so even though he was supposed to get into SLC at 11pm (1 am in NC) he didn't actually arrive at the airport until 1 am on Saturday. After going to the Stake President's house so he could release Scott from full time service we got to bed around 3 am. Needless to say we slept in Saturday morning.

Saturday my best friend (I've known her since High School) Talise came over to help me make a cake for Scott's homecoming party the next day. It was good to have someone helping me with a cake and even better to spend time with Talise! While Talise and I worked in Peterson, Mark was able to go to Lehi and visit the Smallwood nieces and our newest niece Ali Jenkins.

Sunday Scott gave his Homecoming Talk at church and then family and friends came over to my parent's house for a big Welcome Home party! Both of my grandmothers, all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins, plus Talise and her brother Alex, were able to come help Scott celebrate his successful and eventful mission to Bolivia & Peru. It was wonderful!

The very short trip out to UT whet my appetite for Summer! I can't believe there are only 10 days left this school year!
