My music teacher asked me Tuesday if I could have a cake ready for her Friday morning. Not wanting to disappoint I made room in my schedule to say yes. She was having a birthday celebration with her church choir Sunday morning so she wanted a butter-cream cake with music notes as decoration. I didn't think spreading music notes

randomly around the cake would look good, so I made a staff with notes running completely around the edge. (Yes I know I messed up on one set of notes. The tails should have been going up instead of down, but give me a break it was midnight before I finished and my bed time is 10:00 pm). This time I actually made a profit off the cake since Gizmo didn't get to it while I changed icing bags! :-)
I have really enjoyed my cake classes and only have 1 more before I have taken all the classes Wilton offers. I have 2 more customer cakes in the works. They are both for teachers at school, but only 1 is a paying customer. I will be donating the other cake to a leukemia fundraiser raffle.
In other news, Mark went to Washington D.C. for a conference that EntoGenetics was invited to. Mark says his presentation went really well. Brady was able to stop by and see it since it was near where he worked. After his presentation, he had a line of people waiting to speak to him, including the Venture Capital arm of the CIA, which is very interested in their spider silk technology.
