Well I hope everybody had a good Valentines Day! When I woke up Friday I found some orange and pink tulips (wedding colors) on our kitchen counter. How adorable is that? I took the flowers to school with me and one of my students said "Mrs. Smallwood, Mark is really good to you!" I told her, "I know. He's a keeper. You should find a good guy like him when you get older." I think my impact on humanity last year (via my students) was a love of science and math. I think this year's impact may be to show my students (most of them from broken homes) how great marriage can be and what standards they should have in selecting a spouse.Saturday I woke up to make Mark some heart pancakes before leaving for an Achievement Day girls activity. Sis. Hughs and I thought it would be fun for our girls to have a Mommy/Daddy-Daughter date for Valentines Day. Sis. Hughs and I decorated the primary room and then directed the girls and their guests as they decorated Valentines, played games, ate ice cream, and had a dance contest.
By the time I got home at noon Mark was out of the house at a Duke meeting. He got home at 3 and by 4 we were off on the road to Danville.
Today we celebrated Jenny's birthday, and spent time with Mark's family.
