Party, Parade, Finals

We we actually have been quite busy the last week or so.

Of course the weekdays are always stressful. Mark has been working hard at Duke and I have been surviving Eno Valley. Usually on the weekends we try to take a couple of hours away from the drum of life and enjoy each other. Last Friday was my school's Christmas party. Mark came with me to a little cabin behind a cute little church. About 40 people came for dinner and a game. Mark and I ate dinner and talked to some different people, but had to leave before the game so Mark could study. Which actually worked out well because I was so tired of even thinking about work. I think if we had stayed much longer it would have become uncomfortable. Those people only know me as the 5 grade teacher with a tough class. Many of them (few exceptions) don't really know me on a more personal level and I usually try to leave the teacher at school now a days.

Saturday Mark's Boy Scouts and my Achievement Day Girls participated in the Chapel Hill Christmas parade. Both Mark and I had to attend. It worked out really well as we were able to enjoy a long morning together. The parade was almost 3 miles long (had we known, I think Mark would have brought different shoes). A friend took some cute pictures but hasn't gotten a chance to send them to me (imagine me wearing a black wool coat, red scarf, Santa hat, and having a red nose due to the cold. Mark had a gray coat, jeans, and red ears to match his red nose).

This week we are both already back into work mode. Mark took a final yesterday. He has another today, his last final, and a paper due on Wednesday. By Wednesday night Mark will be done with 1/4 of his course work towards a MBA! School for me goes until Friday. I can't wait to be on break. We will get to see all of our family during the break (except Scott who is serving his Bolivian mission in Peru, but may now be moved to Chile - long story, email me if you want to hear about it).

Happy Holidays, only 9 days 'til Christmas!
