The girls were very impressed that we got to eat on a blanket! :-)
I have never known a little girl to follow the rules so religiously. Mark and I asked Kaiya if she wanted to stay up 30 minute after her bedtime (hoping she would sleep in 30 minutes longer in the morning) but she promptly replied that her bedtime is 7:30 and she always goes to bed on time. So needless to say we ended up putting them to bed at 7:30pm and they woke up before 7:00 am. Mark was a sweetheart though, he got up when he heard them walking around and when he opened the door he said Emmie was just standing right at the threshold waiting for him. He started Sleeping Beauty where it had finished the night before. That kept them busy for about 20 minutes. After that I got out of bed and put breakfast in the oven. We had bubble bread. As Emmie and Kaiya watched me put the bread in the oven they again proved to be funny. Emmie took one look at the bread and said, rather matter-of-factly, "Mommy, Daddy, and my Claire Bear don't like that, I don't either." Needless to say by the time it came out of the oven and she could smell the caramel and see the goo she was very excited and didn't want to wait for it cooled down.
Having them over is so much fun, they are always making me laugh and smile. I have loved getting close to them and hope to become close to my 2 nephews and niece that live out East too!
