ONE x 2

I can't believe the twins are 1!  It's been a year already?  That can't be!

We threw a small party for them on their birthday.  Ainsley and Elodie, the Jones twins, came over along with a new friend, Carter.  Grandpa and Grandma DeYoung, Grandma Elzey, and half of the Cude family.  That was it - small and simple and perfect!  The babies a played together for a bit.  It was fun to see them all together enjoying toys and the company of other little ones!

The party theme was polka dots and stripes, so Rachel's stuff was polka dot covered and Dean's stuff was stripe covered.  It helped keep their cakes individual yet separate!

After play time, we let the Birthday Boy and Birthday Girl get into their cakes.

We had the photographer who was taking the kid's one year photos to also come to the cake smash portion of the party.  We're still waiting on the final pictures, but she did post this proof online after the party.

After the cake smash, the kids had fun with their new toys and books.  

We're enjoying this new age just as much as we have the past ages and stages.  They are working on balancing without holding onto something. Yesterday Dean stood up without holding onto anything and about two days ago Rachel took a single step on her own.  She hasn't done it again since, but I can't believe they are that close to walking already!

They have grown up so fast!

We're excited to watch them continue to grow and learn!
