Rachel is Home & the Twins are One Month Old

Rachel came home last Sunday!  It is so nice to have both of them with us now!

Gizmo has been great with them!  He adapted to Dean pretty quickly, but we could visually see him become confused when we brought baby #2 home with us 10 days later.  He's sweet though and pretty much ignores them unless they're crying and even then he is more concerned than anxious.

I honestly think it is a little easier to take care of them now.  I'm not saying it is easy!  When they both decided to skip their 10 o'clock-12 o'clock nap today in favor of crying it certainly wasn't easy to keep both of them happy at once, but overall it is easier to deal with that for a couple hours than split my time driving back and forth between home and the hospital.

Mark and I have been very blessed to have help during the past month+!  My parents came out before the twins even got here and helped with the yard and house to make sure everything was ship-shape and ready to go.  After Rachel and Dean got here my mom & dad and Mark's mom have both come to help us take care of ourselves before the babies came home, help with Dean so I could go visit Rachel in the hospital, and then help us figure out how to take care of a newborn x2.  We have truly been blessed with wonderful parents and children!

The twins are one month old today.  It's weird to think that they're a full month old when Rachel has only been home for 5 days, but they also look so big compared to when they born.  Their preemie clothes are a little snug, but most of the newborn clothes are still loose.  1 month ago the newborn stuff just fell off shoulders and hips, so that small change seems rather dramatic to us.
We're seeing lots of personality differences between them already.  When Rachel looses her pacifier she is very persistent at trying to find it, but when Dean looses his pacifier he looses "it".  Oh my goodness we know the second he's lost his grip!  Dean is a restless sleeper who is always making squeeks, cries, and flailing his arms, but Rachel almost doesn't move a muscle the whole time and wakes up so calm I sometimes don't realize she's awake until I walk by and see her looking around.  Dean HATES diaper changes and baths.  Rachel dislikes diaper changes and likes her baths as long as most of her body is in the water.  Dean really likes his bouncer chair and the swing, but Rachel would prefer to just lay in bed.

We're so happy these two darlings have finally joined our family and come home from the hospital too.  Thank you to everyone that has helped us along our journey!
