The first thing I created were these basketball chocolate cookies with Oreos inside for the Duke-UNC game last night. They were VERY time consuming. It wouldn't have been as bad if the whole mold was basketballs but unfortunately only 2/8 of the space was basketball shaped. The rest were baseballs, footballs, and soccer balls. As a result, I could only produce about 2 cookies every 30-40 minutes. I made 20 in total...yeah, it took a long time. Next time I will be sure to either buy multiple molds or make all 4 types of sports balls. I did get some good comments though...so that was nice.
Ingredients:
2 Packs of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
1 Pound of Ground Sausage
8 oz. Cream Cheese
Directions:
Open both packages of crescent rolls. Flatten the dough with a rolling pin and then cut the dough into squares large enough to fill the cups of a mini cupcake pan. Press the squares into a greased mini-cupcake pan.
Cook the sausage in a pan over medium heat. Drain the fat. Add the cream cheese to the sausage and stir until they are well mixed, but don't let the cheese completely melt. Spoon the mixture into the dough cups.
Preheat the oven to 350 and bake the cups until the dough is golden brown (about 15 minutes).
So easy and so yummy!
PS: Don't you like my little mouse plate? The art teacher helped me create it last year. The bodies are my thumbprints, the nose and tail are made using the sharpened end of a pencil, and the ears are made using the eraser side of the pencil. Then I glazed the plate and she put it in the kiln for me. I plan on using it anytime I have to bring a cheese & cracker dish somewhere (like yesterday's party). I LOVE IT!!!
