Feliz Ano Nuevo Part 2

Besides visiting the ruins we also spent time playing and relaxing (mostly in the sun). One day all the boys went golfing while the girls went to the spa. I completely enjoyed my holistic massage and facial while Mark had a good time on the course.

We went to Cozumel one day to relax in the sun and snorkel. The boys played many games of water volleyball and kicked butt every time!

Mark loves snorkeling when we go on a warm vacation and this time was no different! The Cozumel Palace doesn't have a beach. Instead you go straight from the pool deck to the dock and snorkel right off the dock. He spent twice as much time in the water as everyone else and even saw a Sting Ray.

On New Years Eve we took pictures on the beach with the hotel photographer. The restaurants were set up for a party so we enjoyed listening to a Mariachi band as we enjoyed the buffet. Most the family celebrated the new year with New York. I was able to stay awake until 11:57 pm so Mark was left alone to watch everyone else celebrate the stroke of midnight. It was great to get away from the cold and into the warm sun for a week ~ Viva la Mexico!

The rest of the break was spent in Utah (no pictures). My Great-grandmother died while we were in Mexico but we were able to be there for the viewing and funeral. It was a wonderful and uplifting service! I was also able to spend time with my best friend. Talise and I have known each other for almost 10 years and always make time to see each other. I dread the day our paths don't cross at least once a year! We celebrated Mark's birthday by going to a movie and having cake and ice cream at Grandma Jenning's home. All in all it was a great 2.5 week vacation, Christmas, and New Years!

What a wonderful vacation! And great tradition too :). I bet it was a nice break from school to help you recooperate from all that teaching! It sounds like the tour guide was great so I'll remember that if we ever head down that direction.
