Congratulations Layton Family!

For years my cousin Jared and his Wife Teresa have been trying to adopt a little girl from Haiti. They were actually in the process of adopting 2 children when the baby boy died from the flu. With the earthquake the DeYoung/Layton family worried more for Valencia and her country than most people could, simply because we know Jared & Teresa have been waiting and loving this sweet little girl for so long!

While the earthquake still isn't a good thing, it has been a blessing for the Layton family. Efforts were made by so many to help (U.S. families waiting for their Haitian children) get the orphans out of the country when Haiti so often ignores the orphanages all together.

IT WORKED!!!! As of Thursday night my cousin and his little family of 4 officially have 5 sleeping in their house now!

Below is a link to the Mass. news report and their blog so you can see more pictures and hear the story from their perspective!

Oh, that's such a wonderful story! I have been so worried about the children in Haiti, and I'm thrilled to know that at least one has a loving family and a new start.
