This weekend was a very special weekend for our newest niece Lily Kay (and of course her proud mommy and daddy)! It was her blessing week. In the LDS faith we bless and give our babies an official name for the records of the church. The blessing is usually given by the father or close family friend who holds the priesthood in the church and other family friends with the priesthood can participate in the blessing circle. Mark and his brother Michael were both able to be part of this very special ordinance.Mark's sister Mary Susan flew into RDU Friday so right after school ended I went to pick her up. Then we came home to pick up Gizmo for a weekend stay at the shelter. After getting Mary
Susan some much needed food we picked up Mark at RDU and headed North.
Saturday morning we drove up to Richmond with Susan, David, & Paulette. We were able to eat dinner with Mark's step-brother Mark and his two cute kids. After dinner we went to Mark's cousins house for games. It was so fun, I have only gotten on a Wii once before but this time we all bowled and Mark and I boxed! PS: I won both games ;-)
Sunday we finished the drive to Washington D.C. for the blessing! Before going to church we all went to a park for a luncheon. It was a big group, and we were all there to be apart of this special little girl's big day! I know this picture isn't wonderful, I had to pull it off my sister-in-law's facebook. If you look close you can see Mark next to his father on the back row. Then I am on the other side of Brady also on the back row.
