1st Snow of the Season

Well I can't take credit for the picture because my camera battery is dead and we can't find the charger. I stole the picture from our friend Missy (hope that's okay :-/). Last night we got snow, Yippee!

Monday night before it was even snowing the year-round schools were broadcasting cancellations and delays, so this morning when I woke up I expected somewhere around 6 inches. Nope it was closer to 2-3 inches.

Gizmo enjoyed the snow! He would pounce into the snow causing it to ball and roll away from him, apparently he thought this was something cool because he would then pounce on the mini snowball and just played around like that for a few minutes before I had to drag him to the sidewalk.

When I got on the road I wasn't worried about myself driving, but oh my goodness these North Carolinians drive SO SLOW when it snows. I am going to work stuck behind 15 cars all going 20-25 mph on the three lane freeway. After I got around some of the cars to an open lane I sped up to 40 mph (still 15 under the limit), and got many dirty looks from the people I was passing. Of the 60 teachers that were supposed to go to school for a teacher work day a grand total of 11 actually ended up coming and the secretary kept telling us how good we were to "Brave the Weather." Even though it hasn't snowed since before 2:00 this afternoon they have already canceled school for tomorrow, and the Governor has declared it a state of emergency. People are funny!

Anyway, I am very excited that it finally snowed!!!
