I decided to try two different versions of the online craft. I tried one that had a big six inch candle and one that had a tall thin candle. I also wanted to try different floral stems. I
chose fall
leaves, and while I couldn't find the berries I wanted I found some that I thought would work just as well. I couldn't find the vine looking things that I liked so much in the pictures, so chose feathers instead. In the picture online there was a lot less stuff around the candles, but it didn't look right with the stems I had decided to purchase, so I just kept adding and adding. I think I needed to have looked at the picture more closely and bought different stems for them to have turned out more elegant. I like the fat candle piece better, but neither is what I envisioned when I was shopping. I guess I need more practice. Oh well they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't think they are beautiful, but I don't think they are totally ugly either. At least I had fun making them, and the best part is that if I decided to change the "stuff" I still can since it is all fake and was all 40-50% off.

Pumpkin Center Pieces
As I was searching on the Internet for fall decorations and floral arrangements I found a great idea that I really wanted to try. Somebody had taken a pumpkin and turned it into the pot for a floral arrangement that included a candle as the centerpiece. Today after taking Gizmo to the vet with Paulette the two girls went to Hobby Lobby while Mark got the oil changed in our car. While we were there I found some fake pumpkins I thought might work for the centerpiece idea. I bought two and some floral stems that were on sale.

oh Jill you say you are not creative, but look at you!!!
I think they both look awesome!
And you say you are not creative??? Wow! One thing I want to do this week is get some pumpkins and put a pot of mums inside them. You can see if I got around to doing that when you come this weekend!
I think they're both beautiful, Jill! You did a great job.
