4th of July

Well we had a very busy weekend! I will start with the 4th of July :-)

Kristi was able to join us this year for the big day. It was great to finally get a whole day with my girl again! The day started early when we left town around 6:45 am. We stopped by Shade Clothing on the way to Morgan. Both Mary Susan and Karissa had bought new swimming suits this spring, and when I was in Danville for Tim and Mary Susan's wedding I found myself admiring Karissa's very modest two piece. We stopped by the store and I was able to buy a really nice halter-top. The top comes down real low and the bottom comes up very high. I love it!

Anyway, after we finished my shopping we drove up to my parents house and then to my aunt Connie's home. Scott and Connie live in a cute little Utah mountain town called Huntsville. The parade was mostly made up of little kids on their bikes, ATVs, and tonka trucks. Followed by men with their old fashioned tractors. The best part of the parades is that they still throw candy from the "floats." Kristi, Mark, and I were able to stock up on the sweets for the day. After the parade the three of us went back to my aunt's house and hung out on their huge love sack like bean bags!

After the parade we went back to Morgan and Mark pulled the pork he had smoked the night of the 3rd. My parents hosted a potluck lunch and pool party during the day, so we were all able to enjoy the afternoon in the sun! There were so many people in the pool it became crazy. Almost all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins came up to the house and it ended up being a blast! When the day finally wore down we drove to the Clearfield fireworks. Grandma Jennings always gets a great spot at the show where we can just lay down on blankets and look straight up to see the fireworks - it's great! Some years we even get ash showers during the show. We warned Kristi of that fact and we both wore our sunglasses during the 10:00 pm fireworks show. All in all it was a fantastic day!
